Effective Date: June 2025 Owner: All For Climate (A4C) ASBL Implementer: All For Climate Back Office supports person or team Reference Document: Cooperation Agreement Legal Context: Belgian law & terms of Open Collective platform Reviewed: Annually or as needed

🎯 Purpose

As a fiscal host on the Open Collective platform, All For Climate (A4C) enables climate and social wellbeing-focused collectives to transparently manage donations and expenses. However, A4C operates as a back-office provider and facilitator only. This policy clarifies the limits of A4C's responsibility for the activities of collectives and sets out procedures for upholding shared values and legal compliance.

Each collective hosted by A4C operates as an unincorporated partnership under the terms of the Cooperation Agreement. Collectives:

  • Are not legally owned by A4C.

  • Independently choose how to spend their money, within the boundaries of the law and A4C’s values.

  • Must comply with all applicable laws and uphold A4C’s ethical framework at all times.

A4C provides financial hosting only and does not control or endorse the specific actions, events, or opinions of hosted collectives.

🚫 Liability disclaimer

Per Clause 4.1–4.2 of the Cooperation Agreement:

  • A4C is not responsible for any actions, initiatives, communications, or content produced by a collective.

  • Collectives (the "Principals") bear full liability for their own conduct and use of funds.

  • Collectives agree to indemnify A4C from any third-party claims arising from their activities.

🌱 Values-based expectations

All For Climate is founded on a shared commitment to climate and social justice, equity, and transparency. By joining, collectives agree to align with these values, including:

  • Embracing non-violent action.

  • Remaining open and inclusive to all, regardless of background or identity.

  • Acting transparently, especially with public donations and spending.

  • Avoiding discrimination, hate speech, or behavior that would harm A4C's reputation or mission.

🧊 In case of non-compliance

If a collective is reported to violate A4C's legal or ethical expectations (e.g., through complaints, media reports, or public behavior), A4C reserves the right to take the following actions:

  1. Initial assessment: The A4C team will investigate the concern in good faith and request clarification from the collective’s admins.

  2. Freeze of activity: If concerns are credible, unresolved and third party valid complaints are being experessed, A4C may temporarily freeze the collective’s funds on the platform.

  3. Notice of intent to unhost: A written warning will be issued if the situation is not resolved satisfactorily.

  4. Termination: In accordance with Clause 6.1 of the Cooperation Agreement, A4C may unhost (terminate the agreement with) the collective at any time.

πŸ“£ Transparency & right to respond

Before any action is taken, collectives will be given:

  • An opportunity to respond in writing (within a defined time frame, usually 7–14 days).

  • A summary of the concerns received.

  • The option to appeal through direct dialogue with the A4C team.

πŸ”„ Ongoing alignment

A4C may update its values, compliance requirements, or operational policies from time to time. Hosted collectives will be notified of any such updates and are expected to adapt accordingly.

πŸ“¬ Contact & reporting
