🏰Governance

💸 Policy on Governance Structure

Effective Date: June 2025 Owner: All For Climate (A4C) ASBL Implementer: Originally drafted from A4C team member Marco together with the A4C team Reviewed: As needed Contact: [email protected]

🎯 Purpose

This policy governs how All For Climate’s governance system works. It aims to merge the originally ‘’Formalisation & ratification of current existing Governance’’ proposal published in early 2024 in the new policy system created in 2025.

📥 Structure, working spirit, ASBL composition, proposal system

All For Climate is governed by the A4C team, its collectives and admins. The structure is flat, with a decision making process open to all the collectives’ admins and team members.

You can find the original Governance proposal and its clear manifesto here.

The proposal and its vote can be found here.

👥Working Spirit

All For Climate’s mission is to help active citizens to be as successful as possible in their fight for a more sustainable society. Listening to people and their needs, bringing them together and helping them get started is the core business of our work. This is our working spirit:

  • 👥 We are a learning network: with open minds, ears and eyes we co-create All For Climate. We adapt and grow together with what people offer us and opportunities that rise. We are transparent: everything we do is open and transparent. We are happy to share everything we do and welcome feedback.

  • 🤲 We use deep democracy techniques in our meetings and assemblies and actively mine the collective wisdom in the network. All voices are welcomed, they are the energy and the wisdom of our network. We highly value gender balanced teams.

  • 🌱 For important decisions we follow the a4c proposal system, which is based on the model of Peer Governance with a main consent based mechanism.

  • 👁️ We work in public. All our meetings are open to access by the members of All For Climate. All the relevant documents on how the organisation is posted publicly.

  • 🗣️ We respect plurality and each other's knowledge and authority in our respective domains. We deeply respect the work people do and are grateful for all contributions. We are aware of the time and energy the work requires.

  • 🔭 We are an organisation of the 21st century: we highly value decentralization, embrace tools of the future, and we are aware of the impact of our choices on the planet.

💥Composition

🟢 Team: flexible and open team that meets continuously at the weekly working check-in. 🟤 Active Members: they are chosen by the founding members (initially). They are elected every year through a candidate-less election process where collectives members nominate and vote anonymously. Active members have significant responsibilities including approving requests from adherent members and having a say in major organizational decisions.

🔴 Board of Directors: closed number of people behind the first European Chapter. They are liable for any activity conducted by A4C, therefor they have the veto on any decision in the organisation. 🟡 Founders: they play an important role at the beginning of the life of the organisation, as they are the only people who can vote and elect Adherent Members.

🌑 Collectives: composed by all the climate activists that we support daily. 🟣 Adherent Members: each collective is considered an adherent member through one or more representatives. These members are registered through an online form and commit to the internal regulations defined by active members. They act as liaisons between their respective collectives and the organization, they contribute to the organization by maintaining active engagement in its operations and supporting its governance through feedback and participation in sociocratic processes.

✔️Proposal System

For all major decisions that are going to impact the Fiscal Host and its future, we require to create dedicated proposals that can be voted by all the members that compose All For climate.

Every member of All For Climate can create proposals.
